  • Event Execution & Planning

The OSI website has many resources regarding event planning and execution.

    • If you would like some examples of event types, you can visit the “Events” page.
    • For funding, you can find guidelines, a workshop presentation, and a SAFB checklist on the “Funding Tools” page.

Risks can vary between event types and organizations, but some common examples are:

    • weather
    • guest/vendor cancelations

Finally, think about how your event team can efficiently communicate both before and during the event. Everyone needs to be on the same page to ensure that you have a smooth and successful event.

  • SMART Goals for your Organization

Identify a goal for your organization that is specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART).

    • Specific: What exactly do you want your org to accomplish?  Focus on a clear outcome like increasing membership or hosting an event.
    • Measurable: How will you know that you are making progress towards your goal?
    • Achieveable: Is your goal realistic? Think about your org’s current resources and member availability.
    • Relevant: How does this goal connect to the overall mission of your group?
    • Time-bound: What is the deadline for completing this goal?

For practice in SMART Goals, try out this Worksheet from one of our previous workshops.
