DEPAUL ACTUARIAL SCIENCE CLUB

ARTICLE I MISSION & VALUES
The DePaul Actuarial Science Club promotes the study of actuarial science and the pursuit of actuarial careers by DePaul students. We do this by organizing study groups for club members that are attempting to pass the preliminary exams and by providing various actuarial resources. We also connect with area businesses to host employment presentations and workshops for DePaul students interested in a career in actuarial science.

ARTICLE III AMENDMENTS & RATIFICATIONS
This constitution may be amended by a unanimous agreement of the club’s officers with approval of the faculty advisor.
ARTICLE IV OFFICERS
The leadership shall consist of the President, President-Elect, Treasurer, Communications Officer and Academic Officer; all shall share equal power and status. Representing the organization both on campus and off, officers are expected to exhibit and model behavior that supports the mission of the organization.
- Duties & Responsibilities
- President
- Preside over leadership and/or general body meetings.
- Responsible for annual OrgSync renewal process.
- Responsible for keeping the website up-to-date.
- Must work with Treasurer on SAF-B applications.
- Coordinates campus visits, our annual career fair, employment workshops or any such event as it pertains to connecting club members with employment opportunities, and reserves rooms as needed.
- President-Elect
- Assists the president in his/her duties.
- Acts as the interim president should the incumbent become incapacitated or otherwise disaffiliated with the club.
- Should commit to serving as the President the following year.
- Treasurer
- Responsible for organization budget, purchase orders, fundraising and donations.
- Communicate with leadership and advisor regarding organization financial status.
- Must work with President on SAF-B applications.
- Communications Officer
- Maintains the club’s email address.
- Responds to all inbound email messages within DePaul’s guidelines.
- Promotes the club among the student population.
- Recruits students into the club.
- Academic Officer
- Coordinates exam study groups and appoints study group leaders as well as serves as the point of contact for exam study groups.
- Researches actuarial designations and tracks.
- Researches actuarial exams and provides guidance in connection to the actuarial science curricula at DePaul.

- Election of Officers
To be eligible for an officer position, the candidate must be a current student at DePaul University, hold and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, support the mission of the organization, and have been a member of the organization for at least one academic quarter. The general body must be notified of all changes in leadership.
- Election
- Annual officer elections shall take during each Spring Term.
- Candidates will submit an application to the Communications Officer for consideration.
- The Communications Officer will create electronic polls through orgsync for the positions of President-Elect, Treasurer, Communications Officer and Academic Officer with information regarding each candidate. Polling should be open to all members for at least 5 business days.
- Officer Replacement
- In the event that an officer fails to perform his/her duties, the remaining officers with permission of the faculty advisor can call for a re-election for that position. An interim officer will be appointed by a consensus of the club’s officers and with approval of the faculty advisor. However, the former incumbent may run for his/her office if properly nominated by the club the day of the election.

- Discipline & Impeachment
If an officer has been found in violation of the organization’s requirements or acts against the mission/values of the organization, disciplinary action must be discussed with the organization advisor and the Office of Student Involvement.
