Should I Register to Vote With My Campus Address or Home Address?
You are only allowed to vote in one place and will need to decide whether or not you will vote using your home address or your university address, and vote in that location's elections.
Each student’s situation is different. If you’re from out-of-state, please learn any potential barriers and/or requirements in your home state and Illinois by using the Vote DePaul Student Resources before deciding to register using your university address. These resources can also provide you with voting deadlines specific to your state and Illinois.
Registering to Vote in the Residence Halls
Students registering to vote who live in the residence halls need two important pieces of information while registering to vote:
1. Valid mailing address. Residential hall students, as well as any student who is unable to receive mail where they live, can use the Office of Student Involvement to register to vote and send out Registration Applications. The address is to be used only for voting registration and ballots purposes—not for personal mail delivery. For other mail purposes utilize your mailroom address listed here.
2. Residential address. Your residence hall addresses are listed here.
