Writing and Rhetoric Across Borders Speaker Series: Dr. Ersula J. Ore
The WRD department, in collaboration with the Department of History and Department of African and Black Diaspora Studies, excitedly welcomes Dr. Ersula Ore from Arizona State University on Monday, November 9th at 4:30 pm. Dr. Ore will present a short lecture and an expansive question and answer session based on topics explored in her award-winning book "Lynching: Violence, Rhetoric, and American Identity"(University of Mississippi Press, 2019). Dr. Ore's powerful book explores lynching as a racialized practice of civic engagement that has communicated the meanings and boundaries of citizenship in the U. S. from the 1880s onward.
