What is are SBA Task Forces and Groups?
SBA Task Forces and Groups aim to involve the broader student body and address both regularly recurring issues and new issues alike.
There is no distinction between groups and task forces! Both of them include interested SBA and non-SBA members. The SBA General Body will provide a mechanism for focused efforts and regular updates in the pursuit of shared goals.
How are SBA Task Forces and Groups different from SBA Committees?
SBA Committees only consist of SBA Senators and members. All SBA Senators are required to be on a committee. All general body meetings are open to the public. Meeting dates can be found on the SBA@depaul.edu Shared Calendar.
However, anyone may participate in a Task Force or Group. Whether a student is an SBA member or not, we want to encourage direct participation from our community.
How can I get involved in an SBA Task Force or Group? What's the commitment?
Anyone can be involved with an SBA Task Force or Group! The commitments are meant to be singular, repetitive, and clearly communicated. When a new Task Force or Group is created, it will be noted in General Body Meeting Minutes. Anyone may bring a thoughts and ideas to the SBA, and SBA Members will be able to formally move (vote) to establish a Task Force or Group for those efforts.
When reviewing the Meeting Minutes and learning of the established Task Forces and Groups, you may reach out to SBA@depaul.edu with your interest. We will connect you with the individual(s) responsible for staffing and communication about the Task Force or Group in question.
