Advocacy Initiatives
Accessible Futures DePaul pursues strategic initiatives to advocate for greater Disabled inclusion at DePaul University, including:
- Advocating for structural and procedural changes to reduce barriers that Disabled students face when enrolling to receive accommodations through the Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD).
- Advocating that DePaul offer remote learning as a disability accommodation for immunocompromised and other Disabled students for whom in-person learning poses an accessibility barrier.
- Producing public interest campaigns on behalf of Disabled students, such as the flu season campaign featuring DIBS and Saint Vincent encouraging behaviors like wearing a mask when feeling unwell.
- Advocating for the creation of a Disabled Cultural Center (DCC) alongside existing Cultural Resource Centers in the Office of Multicultural Student Success (OMSS).
