About Us
DePaul Model United Nations is a student-led organization dedicated to developing globally minded leaders through debate, diplomacy, and research. We provide undergraduate students with opportunities to study international affairs, simulate global decision-making, and engage with complex political, historical, legal, economic, and humanitarian issues. Through weekly meetings, travel competitions, crisis simulations, and our annual DeMUN high school conference (April), members engage with a wide range of committees that reflect the complexity of international decision-making. These include United Nations bodies, regional organizations, historical cabinets, crisis committees, and specialized agencies focused on issues such as security, human rights, development, public health, migration, economics, education, and conflict resolution. Our committees allow students to step into the roles of diplomats, policymakers, heads of state, ministers, journalists, advocates, and other decision-makers. In doing so, students learn how policy is debated, negotiated, written, challenged, and implemented across different political and historical contexts. As a non-sectarian and non-partisan organization, DeMUN is committed to fostering respectful dialogue, intellectual curiosity, and inclusive participation. We aim to prepare students to think critically, lead confidently, and engage meaningfully with global challenges both inside and outside the university.
