Welcome to the month of October, where fall is officially upon us. We’re finally past the 90° days of “September” and getting into sweater and pumpkin spice weather.
Even though it’s chilly outside, I still keep my apartment at 67°. It makes my cats want to snuggle with me in bed (they hate each other, so they'll probably fight on me).
I'm counting down the days until the first snowfall. You’ll probably see me making snow angels on the quad.
Midterms are coming up pretty quickly, so it’ll do some good to start preparing now. Check out your syllabus for the exact date, format, and details of the exam, as well as how much it counts towards your grade.
If you’re finding a class difficult, you can reach out to your professor, tutors, or classmates to help you out. Use all the resources DePaul provides to ensure that you’re going to do well.
Schoolwork will keep us busy for a while, but let’s not forget the midterm elections. If you haven’t already, please make sure to register to vote and regularly check your voter status.
The registration deadlines vary for mail, online, and in-person registration, and the state you’re registered to vote in will have their own dates for each of these.
Early voting has begun or will begin across the country, so take advantage of the 1-month period to cast your vote, especially if you’re voting by mail.
You can get more information from Vote DePaul and the Board of Elections webpage for the state you’re registered to vote in.
Remember: "There’s no such thing as a vote that doesn’t matter. It all matters." – Barack Obama
