About Us

The Society of Professional Journalists is the nation's most broad-based journalism organization, dedicated to encouraging the free practice of journalism and stimulating high standards of ethical behavior. Works to inspire and educate current and future journalists through professional development; and protects First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and press through its advocacy efforts. DePaul's chapter of Society of Professional Journalists is committed to DePaul's mission. We currently and will continue to serve the underrepresented communities through sharing the news in a free press system. We not only serve by informing people about news across the country and globe, but also bring together students of every background to teach them about journalistic ethics, principles and methods in an urban setting.
