Event Marketing

Approval for displaying materials on-campus is required from the Office of Student Involvement at either Lincoln Park Student Center (LPC) or DePaul Center (Loop). Files are date-stamped, stored, and can be posted for 14 days. Removal occurs the day after the event or after the 14-day limit.

Posters/flyers approved by the Office of Student Involvement are only permitted for display on the following boards: Lincoln Park Campus Student Center, Schmit Academic Center (Floor 1 Only), Loop Campus Lewis Floors 10-16, Loop Campus DePaul Center Floors 5-11.

For boards outside these specified locations, seek permission from respective University departments. Residence hall materials require approval and stamping at the Residential Education Central Office in Centennial Hall, Lincoln Park Campus (2345 N. Sheffield Avenue). Residential Education Staff will distribute approved flyers to the halls for posting.

To maintain DePaul University community standards and campus aesthetics, adhere to the following guidelines for materials:

Flyers

  • Size limited to 11x17 inches
  • Maximum 15 copies per campus for registered student organizations and those who have submitted an application through the Office of Student Involvement
  • Maximum 5 copies per campus for external businesses and services
  • One material per bulletin board
  • Must display sponsoring department/organization's name
  • Must display official logo of sponsoring department, if applicable
  • Must clearly display contact information for the sponsoring department/organization
  • Content must be appropriate, avoiding abuse, demeaning content, promoting alcohol, substance abuse, weapons, or illegal acts
  • Student organization flyers must have the Office of Student Involvement approval stamp or face removal
  • Event materials funded by SAF-B must include the SAF-B logo from DeHub

Large Posters/Oversized Banners

  • Banners must advertise a student organization event or student organization meeting
  • Banners may be hung for no more than two weeks
  • Banners should not be larger than 40” wide x 60” high OR 60” wide x 40” high
  • Banners must clearly display the sponsoring organization for an event, meeting or gathering

Other Marketing Materials

Table Tents:

Table tents can be made from a sheet up to 8.5x11 folded into any form for placement on tables in the University dining centers, with a maximum of one per table. Table tents should be free standing. One copy is necessary for approval by the Office of Student Involvement. Student Centers will clear them at their own discretion.

Hand Bills:

Handbills may be handed out anywhere on campus but cannot disrupt the flow of pedestrian traffic, especially in or near campus buildings.

Chalking:

Refer to Student Center Policies for chalking details. Chalking is allowed on Lincoln Park campus sidewalks only, not on vertical surfaces. Include event details and sponsor info; avoid areas sheltered from rain. Unauthorized locations will be cleared by facility services, and removal costs may be charged. Messages must comply with DePaul's Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy.
