Details

Faculty, staff, and Vincentian priests from the community are invited to a Mass and lunch to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the founding of the Congregation of the Mission, or Vincentians, the religious order of Catholic priests who founded DePaul University and dedicated their lives to Saint Vincent de Paul’s mission of service to the poor and marginalized. While many in the Vincentian community commemorate the founding of the Congregation on January 25 (when St. Vincent preached his first “sermon of the Mission” in Folleville, France in 1617), the date of April 17, 1625 marks the formal institution of the Congregation.

To commemorate this anniversary, Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 16 in the St. Louise de Marillac Chapel (first floor of the LPSC) at 12:00 p.m., followed by lunch in room 325 of LPSC. Please RSVP here to let us know if you will be attending the lunch.

This Mass is a continuation of the monthly Masses that gather Catholic faculty and staff on campus for prayer and fellowship. Whether you're new to DePaul’s Catholic community or a returning member, we invite you to be part of this enriching experience as we build and strengthen our community bonds.
