Mission
Our mission is to foster a lasting community and creative space for avant-garde filmmakers and film-lovers at DePaul University. We aim to instigate interdisciplinary collaboration between all DePaul students while generating opportunities to learn from each other, from professionals, and from the greater world of experimental film. Through workshops, screenings, discussions, and ever-expanding efforts, we cultivate an appreciation for alternative cinema and promote the development of non-traditional films. We value that which challenges the status quo.

As an organization devoted to student's creative development, DEFC "supports the integral human development of [DePaul's] students," which is the primary idea within DePaul's mission statement.
