About Us
The Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) at DePaul University is dedicated to promoting a deeper understanding, appreciation, and celebration of Vietnamese culture within the DePaul community.
Our mission is threefold:
Cultural Celebration
We honor Vietnam’s rich heritage through cultural events, traditional holidays, and festivals. VSA provides a welcoming space for Vietnamese students and anyone interested in the culture to connect, share experiences, and foster pride in cultural identity.
Education
We enhance the student experience through workshops, language opportunities, and conversations about Vietnamese history, art, food, and modern-day topics. Our goal is to expand cultural competency, inspire meaningful dialogue, and encourage global awareness among our members.
Wellness and Support
We recognize the unique challenges students, especially international and Vietnamese students, may face. VSA works to provide mental health resources, stress management tools, and culturally sensitive support by partnering with campus wellness services.
In alignment with DePaul University’s Vincentian mission, VSA strives to respect the dignity of each person, promote social justice, and create an inclusive environment. By celebrating culture, encouraging cross-cultural connections, and supporting personal growth, we aim to contribute to a stronger, more empathetic, and globally minded campus community.
