Hello Esteemed Members of the Pre-OT Club,
Thank you for the work you are all doing to support a key aspect of your mission to identify mutually beneficial events between your members and learners in the MSOT program. I am writing to invite you to consider one such opportunity. I am currently teaching a late Monday afternoon lab on therapeutic use of self. The goal of the lab is to support learners in the MSOT program to develop key interpersonal skills that are needed in practice. As such, I am looking for volunteers who can support them in practicing their skills. The experience will require a 2-hour commitment on Monday, February 27th from 3:30-5:30 pm. For your volunteer service, I will provide a personalized letter in exchange indicating your role in the OT lab session, your specific contributions, and the overall learning objectives of the experience. I will also have a small token of gratitude that can be used in your future role as an occupational therapist. This letter and experience could certainly be a bonus addition to your OTCAS applications in the future.
Thank you for considering. If you are interested, please send me an email (began6@depaul.edu ) as soon as you are able. I should be able to reasonably accommodate the first 6-8 volunteers. This should be a fun experience and hopefully give you a peak into some of the learning activities that may be part of your occupational therapy educational process!!
Best,
