- Dr. Maud Makoni completed her post-professional OTD from the University of Saint Augustine. She is an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy at North Central College in IL. She has had a long career in OT and carries that to the classroom. She has worked as a practitioner and clinical fieldwork educator in various settings for over two decades. Her passion is advancing OT and all specialties while maintaining the roots in human occupation.Maud is a wife and mother of 2 college-age girls and a high school son. Outside of work, Dr. Makoni spends as much time as possible with family, working out (including Zumba, palates, and kickboxing), reading, and journaling because she likes to write everything down
- Rolando Jara is a recent Masters's in Occupational Therapy graduate from the UIC. He is currently serving the South Side community, as an orthopedic occupational therapist for Athletico Hyde Park East. He is working towards obtaining the required hours needed to become a CHT. Rolando volunteers in the community health setting with various health care practitioners assisting individuals experiencing homelessness. Rolando's occupational therapy special interests include shoulder and elbow rehabilitation. In his free time, Rolando enjoys spending his time chillaxing with his roll dog Miklo, training for bodybuilding, and coaching at-risk youth competitive powerlifting/bodybuilding.
- Andrea Adighibe is a Certified Hand Therapist with clinical expertise in Orthopedic and Neurologic upper extremity impairment. Andrea currently works both as a Master Occupational Therapist and as a Research Occupational Therapist in the Arms and Hands Lab at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. Andrea’s occupational therapy special interests include hand trauma, tendon injury rehabilitation, clinical research, and custom thermoplastic orthosis fabrication. In her free time, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and checking out Chicago summer festivals.
- Kelly Collado is an Occupational Therapist who specializes in elbows, wrists and hands at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush-Chicago. She obtained her CHT credential in 2019 and serves as Assistant Manager of a busy, urban clinic including 10 physical therapists, 2 PTAs, 5 OT/CHTS, 18 rehabilitation aides and 3 office coordinators. She works in an interdisciplinary setting in conjunction with respected hand surgeons and is highly skilled in custom orthosis fabrication, trauma, wound care, and fractures. Her special interests include return-to-sport and injured immigrant workers. Kelly has presented at past MOR Hand to Shoulder Symposiums and has presented on TFCC injuries at a Chicagoland Athletico Journal Club. Kelly has mentored a OTD capstone research project titled "The P word: How Pain Impacts Perceived Progress in Hand Therapy”, a hopeful publication in the Journal of Hand Therapy. She has initiated the formation of MOR’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee. Kelly is intermediate in Spanish and enjoys playing beach volleyball and learning about various cultures.
