This event features a panel of neurodivergent law students and legal professionals who have successfully navigated the challenges of law school, the bar exam, and entering legal practice. Panelists will share their personal experiences, strategies, and insights on balancing academic demands with neurodivergent needs, while fostering success and well-being. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, engage in open discussion, and gain practical advice on thriving in law school and the legal profession as a neurodivergent individual.

Melissa Needlman is a DePaul University College of Law alumna and an attorney with the 2nd District Office of the State Appellate Defender. In her role, she is dedicated to providing zealous appellate advocacy and ensuring access to justice for all clients. Melissa recently passed the Illinois Bar Exam with a score qualifying her to practice in all UBE jurisdictions, marking a significant milestone in her legal career. Her experiences navigating law school, the bar exam, and the early stages of legal practice have shaped her thoughtful and compassionate approach to the profession. She is passionate about supporting law students as they find study methods and professional paths that align with their individual strengths and needs.

Dr. Gregory Moorehead serves as the Director of the Center for Students with Disabilities at DePaul University, where he oversees the implementation of reasonable accommodations and ensures that all students receive equitable access to academic opportunities across both campuses. In this role, he also provides guidance and support to faculty and staff in fostering inclusive learning environments. Prior to joining DePaul, Dr. Moorehead held a similar position at the University of Chicago, where he developed a strong foundation in disability services and higher education leadership. He brings over a decade of experience in promoting accessibility, student success, and institutional collaboration. Dr. Moorehead holds a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Western Michigan University. His ongoing work reflects a deep commitment to advancing inclusion and empowering students to thrive in every aspect of university life.

Olivia Ajero is a proud DePaul University College of Law alumna and former executive board member of Law Students Supporting Neurodiversity. During her time at DePaul, Olivia was an advocate for inclusion and support for neurodivergent students navigating the rigors of legal education. After graduating, she successfully passed the Illinois Bar Exam with a score high enough to practice in all UBE jurisdictions. Olivia now serves as an associate attorney with DDV Law, where she continues to pursue her passion for justice and client advocacy. Her journey reflects resilience, determination, and the importance of community support in achieving one’s goals.
