  • About Me

Kahmara is from Atlanta, Georgia, and is currently pursuing a degree in finance at DePaul University. In high school, she developed a passion for strategic business problem-solving while in a 3DE Junior Achievement cohort, which therefore influenced her career aspirations for consulting. Throughout her college career, she has prioritized fostering skills and relationships through participation in several case competitions and taking on leadership roles in student organizations, such as DCG and DePaul's Females in Finance.

Outside of her educational pursuits, Kahmara enjoys traveling, exploring Chicago, Practicing Yoga, taking Zumba classes, and video creation.

  • Professional Experience

This past summer, Kahmara worked as a Transfers Department Intern for Nan McKay & Associates, where she supported consulting operations for a key client, Chicago Housing Authority (CHA). Increased processing efficiency of time-sensitive documents for compliance reporting. Conducted case management, including directly working with CHA participants on resolving issues related to lease-ups, rent calculations, and transition. Additionally, she ensured quality assurance of digital case files in Salesforce CRM and managed inquiries in support of audit-readiness.

Furthermore, Kahmara has gained relevant experience in strategic and financial problem-solving by participating in national and state-wide case competitions, including Crowe and DePaul's Women in Business. She is also the current marketing chair for DePaul Females In Finance Initiative, where she enhances member engagement and drives student membership by developing and implementing a weekly posting strategy on social media and designs and streamlines branded merchandise for cost-effective advertising.

  • Future Aspirations

Post-Grad Kahmara envisions a life working in M&A deals, Business transformation advisory, or financial due diligence advisory. Ultimately, she wants to work in a space where she can constantly challenge herself, apply and develop financial problem-solving tactics, and learn among diverse teams.
