A Look Back at an Incredible Quarter for DePaul CEO

As we wrap up another amazing quarter at DePaul’s Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization, we want to take a moment to reflect on everything this community has accomplished. From packed events to meaningful collaborations, this quarter was powered by your energy, your ideas, and your commitment to what entrepreneurship at DePaul can be.

We’re incredibly grateful for every member who showed up, every speaker who shared their wisdom, and every partner who helped us create opportunities for students across campus. This quarter set a new standard for our momentum, and the next one is already shaping up to be even bigger and better. Thank you for being part of this growing community of innovators, builders, and future founders.

CEO National Conference — DePaul Represents in Florida

We also want to spotlight a special moment from this quarter: Bruce L., Sienna K., and Marilyn G. who represented DePaul CEO at the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization National Conference in Florida.

Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization founded in 1983 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supports thousands of emerging entrepreneurs around the world. With chapters across college campuses globally, CEO empowers any student, regardless of academic major, to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and even launch their own business.

Our DePaul representatives joined leaders from across the country to learn, pitch, network, and bring back insights that will directly benefit our chapter here in Chicago. We’re proud of their dedication, and excited to see how their experience will elevate our programming going forward.

Guest speaker: Robert G. Abboud, Visits DePaul CEO

One of the standout moments this quarter was welcoming Robert G. Abboud to campus for an inspiring conversation with our DePaul CEO community. Robert is a seasoned leader whose career spans engineering, business development, public service, and strategic consulting; a rare blend that reflects the true spirit of multidisciplinary entrepreneurship.

During his visit, Robert shared candid insights on leadership, identifying opportunities, and navigating real-world business challenges. He spoke about the importance of resilience, long-term thinking, and understanding both the technical and human sides of building something meaningful. His ability to bridge innovation, policy, and organizational strategy offered our aspiring entrepreneurs a powerful example of how entrepreneurship extends far beyond launching a startup — it’s a mindset that drives change across industries.

Our members left the session energized and equipped with practical advice from someone who has turned vision into action throughout his career. We’re grateful to Robert for taking the time to invest in DePaul’s next generation of entrepreneurial leaders.

Exploring Innovation at the DePaul IRL Lab

Another highlight of the quarter was our DePaul CEO visit to the DePaul IRL Lab, where our members got hands-on experience with one of the most creative and entrepreneur-friendly spaces on campus. The IRL Lab is an incredible resource for students looking to prototype ideas, explore new technology, and bring their concepts to life, and our members had the chance to dive right in!

In the photo, you’ll see DePaul CEO members creating custom CEO pins using the lab’s fabrication tools while learning about the full range of equipment and support available. From 3D printers and laser cutters to design software and expert guidance, the IRL Lab provides everything an aspiring entrepreneur needs to build, test, and refine their ideas.

We’re extremely grateful to have access to such a powerful workspace and even more grateful that our community gets to learn, experiment, and create in it. Experiences like this help bridge the gap between imagination and action — and that's what entrepreneurship at DePaul is all about.
