About Us

The Community Peacemakers Initiative (CPM) is a partnership between the Chicago Public Schools and DePaul University. CPM matches Peacemakers with high school teachers and their students. In the classroom, Peacemakers, in collaboration with their teacher, will facilitate a series of activities that explores the roots and systemic causes of violence, peace, and how the students can enact change. The activities culminate into a final Peace Project, where the students choose to use what they learned during the year to promote peace in their communities. Currently, CPM is only a group for enrolled students.
