Mission
The mission of Blue Demon Theatre is to inspire all DePaul students to be active theatre makers in the Chicago area.

Taken from DePaul Mission "Core Values" Access to Higher Education: We believe everyone has something to contribute to theatre, even if they have not been a part of theatre before. Every member has a unique artistic and musical background that they bring to the table. By offering roles that support first time performers, directors, writers, and technical members, we break down barriers to access theatre broadly. We also break barriers within DePaul, as performance opportunities at the School of Music and The Theatre School only include students within those schools, and even students within those schools are facing reduced opportunities due to budget cuts, and are not able pursue Musical Theatre. This highly relevant field of theatre falls in between both of these schools, and is therefore covered by neither. We see two gaps: non-Major access to theatre, and all student access to Musical Theatre. We truly believe we are filling these gaps in DePaul's academic offering for our members as we provide all students at DePaul with access to high-quality, pre-professional theatre. Community and Collaboration: Theatre is interdisciplinary. With countless specialties in fields of performance, direction, tech, and production, we are challenged not only to be good in our own specialty, but to make our unique skills fit into a team of people who all think and create differently. Our one common responsibility is to be an effective communicator of our field to make it accessible to our teammates. We also foster community by sharing stories and bringing the broader community together through shared passion and fan-favorite shows that highlight the identities and experiences of others.
